In the last class, we watched the video explaining how to do better presentation. I astonished when I watched the section of restraint, because I had thought that adding more information on a slide had been better. Additionally, I'am not used to talk in front of an audience. So, I need to rehearse to do presentation naturally.

In the last class, we made groups and decided a topic we will talk about. After, we made groups, we began to discuss presentation with following the sheet Rab left. It helped us to expedite the discussion because it explained about basis of presentation. However, we also have to talk about the contents presentation more deeply.

In the last class, Rab gave us final feedback about our first essay. We should not write an essay through question and answer to it because writing is often limited to specific words. I used this way, so I decided not to make same mistake. Rab told us mistakes that most of us made in these  classes and tutorial. Some of them are what I made. Therefore, I think that receiving feedback is important to improve my writing skills. I hope that I will not make same mistakes and receive new advice.

In the last class, Rab explained about pictures. They help to comprehend the contents of an essay or a presentation. I think that they have useful function because they can give audiences strong impression. He also told about our essay. According to him, we should not put new opinions into conclusion. I did not do this, however, I engrave this not to make such mistakes.

In the last, Rab gave us a lecture about thesis statement by using example of psychological tests. He asked us whether our thesis statement were our true opinion or not. Also, he told us the imaginary tale about policy to foreigners. In fact, it showed the real situation of treatment for  foreigners in Japan. We should not take double standard. When I turn my attention to outside, I must turn it to inside.

In the last class, Rab pointed out mistakes that most of us made. First, he explained about thesis statement. It should consist of topic, claim and reasons. Additionally, it must not be a question. Second, described quoting. I did not know that we should make quotation smaller and indent both sides of it, if it reach more than three lines. I want to write better essay through not making same mistakes.

In the last class, I learned how to use Evernote. It enables us to clip a page and store. However, I think that zotero can satisfy me satisfactorily. On the other hand, I think that two web sites are useful. There are many videos in many fields. It helps me to find good information.

In the last class, Rab explained how to write better essay using lawyer's way and policeman's way. The purpose of writing essay is to show better ideas. If we persist in our own idea, we will have tendency to ignore thought or facts against our idea. So, we must gather evidence, and then we decide our mind. I wrote my essay in lawyer's way, therefore I will manege not to repeat the same mistake. In the second half of the class, we present essay topic. I hardly do presentation in the presence of others, so I could not do well. We will have presentation soon. I'm going to do my best to present my idea well.

In the last class, we watched the movie concerned with Hollywood and race.  I know that Hollywood has taken on the role of an advertising. An enemy in a movie is linked with an enemy in the real world. A victory of a hero represents a triumph of the US. However I know this as knowledge, I really surprised that many many cases are made by Hollywood. I think that other sources except movies and news are slanted by media. Therefore, I try to observe neutrally.

In the last class, Rab pointed out problems that were concerned with our essays. I had never cared about flow. So, I have decided to pay attention to the structure of my next essay. Additionally, all sources I got support my ideas. I didn't attempt to acquire any thought that opposed my idea, even if they were high quality. In the latter half of class, we learned about race. I have not concerned about race deeply. However, I have to present classmates with race. Therefore, I will gather information to prepare for presentation.

In the last class, we learned about a viewpoint. Rab showed us his bag and explain about it. And then, he separated us into four groups. Two of them considered that what are good points and the rest thought about bad points of it. After that, we exchanged our opinions. Three of them received views which they did not hit upon . It showed that we have tendency to perceive one side. Mass media also try to make people arrive at what they expect. We need to be skeptical.

In the last class, we learned how to survey using google. When I want members of 3A to answer my question, I can receive answers easily. Though Rab intended to explain about zotero, because some of us did not write on e-portfolio we could not receive explanation. In exchange for that, he explain about Birk and Birk. Medias attempt to influence inconspicuously. Therefore, I will try to receive carefully pieces of information from media.

In the last class, we took a practice test for CWT. I could not complete my essay. The reason why I could not finish writing it is I did not organize my thought about Barna and Fisher articles. I realized that I must reread and consider.Today, I received Intercultural Test Situation. Therefore,  I will read it and annotate.

In the last class, we learned about perception. We watched some videos and fun magics. Magics showed the importance of observation from a different angle. When I watch carefully from other angle, I will clearly understand things that looked strange. The reason why we enjoy the video that explain the behavior in sushi shop is we know real behavior. If we do not know actual action, we cannot take pleasure in it. I watched two videos about dangerous situation. Though I thought it was dangerous, they might think it was enjoyable situation. It showed that each person receive different impression.

I learned about zotero yesterday. I can store data of books, web news and videos. I shared my Academic Writing e-Portfolio with members of our group. Therefore, I will receive useful advice from them and will give them suggestion. Additionally, I shared Essay Peer Review Document. It will help me to check the content of my essay. In the second half of the class, we watched the video on youtube and stereogram. They told me that how people perceive things depends on each person. I could not see the 3D image. However, I should try to perceive subjects in the academic field.

In the class, I learned about the point that I must care to write better an essay. When I write an academic essay, I often make sentences that begin same words.Additionally, I use personal pronouns when I cannot hit upon a noun that can replace of we. I occasionally use phrasal verbs.  Therefore, I am going to pay attention when I write an academic essay. I will share my essay because I do not have confidence about grammar. The most important point is to be careful about plagiarism. When I do not show citation, I will lose my trust.

In the last class, I learned about the way to make an essay better.　 I had never cared about title. For example, my book review's title is Book review about The True Deceiver. It is not attractive one. So, I will manage to hit upon a good title for an essay of this term. I also received lesson about 5A's and the rule of 3. 5A's stand for Academic, Attractive, Argumentative,Access and Achievable. I have to remember 5A's when I write an essay. The rule of 3 is that each paragraph has 3 parts. The reason why  3 is chosen is it is maximum volume to understand. I want to entertain Rab and get A for my essay grade.

In the class, I learned about Google Reader. It is useful because I can read read blog and articles through registration of URL. It helps me to search an article or blog. If a web site does not have searching system, I can find particular page by using Google Reader.I also learned about zotero. I will add pieces of information and use it when I write an essay.

I learned about the difference of recognition depends on cultures. I'd like to tell interesting story.
A Japanese man went to an Arabic country and met a woman. She was kind and cheerful. Therefore, he said 'You are like sun.' And then, she got angry. Why was she angry? The answer is that sun does not represent goodness in Arabic countries. Sun endangers people in a high temperature area. So, if you want to praise a woman, you should say that she is beautiful like moon. This story also shows the difference of recognition caused by dissimilar cultures.

I learned about the difference that appears between cultures. I'd like to show some examples to understand difference caused by social or cultural factors.
In the medieval European world, people were afraid of forest. There were many accidents in the    dark forest. In fact, robbers lived there. These fears to forest become visible in fairy tales like The sleeping beauty. How many people have fear to forest nowadays? It can be said that varied social factor causes this difference. In Greece, you must not have taxi stop like in Japan. Pointing the palm of hand toward a person means impoliteness.
Cultural difference causes some problems. Therefore, it is important to notify there are many difference between nations or cultures.

I learned many useful functions yesterday. The most useful one is Tasks. I often forget my homework and ask my friends. However, I can check when is my homework due through registering my task. If I share my document, anyone who get my permission can edit my document. I sometimes make grammatical mistakes. Therefore it helps me to write better essays. Zotero is also a beneficial software. I can get pieces of information easily. I do not have to use lots of time to write reference.
